Founded in 1947, the Festival d’Avignon is one of the longest running and largest performing arts festivals in the world. It is the go to showcase for international promoters including high profile international festival directors and programmers from Asia, America and Australia.
The associated Festival OFF d’Avignon provides a showcase for cutting edge work and tends to include more contemporary circus. This has seen a real growth over the past 10 years with the development of circus focused venues and areas. Every year the main programme offers 35 – 50 productions with the OFF programme hosting up to 3,000 artists and companies.
At this year’s OFF, NoFit State will host The Circus Village which will feature 4 Spotlight UK Circus companies and NoFit State’s new show, Lexicon.
Taking over the Îlot Chapiteaux alongside NoFit State will be:
Unsuitable | Tumble Circus (N. Ireland)
Knot | Nikki & JD (England)
Tipping Point | Ockham’s Razor (England)
Flown | Pirates of the Carabina (England)
